Happily Ever After is a fireworks and projection mapping event that debuted on May 12, 2017 in the Magic Kingdom. The event, unlike its predecessor Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams, included projection mapping on Cinderella Castle, lasers, and searchlights in addition to fireworks.

The performance featured characters and music from several Disney flicks. The song was composed by Adam Watts, Melissa Peirce, and Andrew Dodd and sung by Angie Keilhauer and Jordan Fisher. It was claimed that the event will include the most technologically advanced projection mapping display in the history of Disney Parks (after the introduction from ElecTRONica at Disney California Adventure).

The show was decommissioned on September 29, 2021, and on September 30, 2021, it was replaced with the new show Disney Enchantment celebrating Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. At the D23 Expo on September 11, 2022, it was revealed that the event will return to Walt Disney World Resort in 2023 in an improved version.

The Cast and Crew of “Wishes”

Steven Davison is the show’s creator and director. Davison, creative director for Walt Disney Creative Entertainment, also created the Disneyland fireworks spectacular “Believe.Magic There’s in the Stars.”
Eric Tucker developed the fireworks for “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” at Epcot. Tucker is a multiple-award-winning pyrotechnics designer whose work has been seen across the world.
Music director: Steve Skorija – As the music director for Walt Disney Entertainment, Skorija is responsible for the music creation for live entertainment and special events at Walt Disney World Resort.
Gregory Smith was the composer and arranger for past Walt Disney World events such as “IllumiNations 25” and “Splashtacular” at Epcot and “Mickey Mania” at Magic Kingdom.

The Fireworks “Wishes” employs various new places across the Magic Kingdom to explode fireworks that illuminate Cinderella Castle with spectacular bursts of light. The concert incorporates never-before-seen pyrotechnic pyrotechnics in a Disney theme park, including many created specifically for this event: The “wishing star” will ascend roughly 100 feet over the brilliant spires of the castle.

The Blue Fairy is portrayed as a magnificent star-shaped shell that “paints” each desire with starlight high in the sky.
“Wishes” was designed to commemorate the introduction of “Magical Gatherings,” a celebration of the enchantment that occurs when friends and extended family meet in the coming months at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney villains quickly become a part of the plot, aiming to destroy the protagonists’ lovely visions and compelling them to battle for their beliefs. The heroes prevail over their worries and are honored with dazzling fireworks. Tinker Bell floats over the night sky, reminding guests that with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, everyone can find his or her own happily ever after, since no Magic Kingdom Park fireworks display is complete without her.

More than 25 Disney flicks are represented by state-of-the-art projections, complemented by more than 50 coordinated lighting, bright lasers, and awe-inspiring pyrotechnics. The new spectacular, accompanied by an emotive music, hammers home the idea that everyone can grasp their goals and make them come true if they are courageous enough to listen to what leads them and courageous enough to pursue their destiny.

This event depends on availability. Depending on the night, the Dessert Party will begin one hour before to the nightly fireworks display. After Fireworks Dessert Party

With the addition of the After Fireworks Dessert Party, Magic Kingdom has expanded its already popular fireworks dessert party selections. Guests will be provided with a reserved viewing area in the Plaza Garden to witness the evening spectacular, followed by an exclusive dessert celebration on Tomorrowland Terrace following the conclusion of the performance.

Why is the story’s title Happily Ever After?

Where did the expression “happily ever after” originate? – ‘Happy ever after’ and ‘Happily ever after’ have long been used by romantic authors to represent a marital utopia, but this is not where the idioms began. The phrase “.and they all lived happily ever after” is a common ending in fairy tales and other love stories for children.

Or, it used to be the case.
Such sentimentality has mostly fallen out of favor in the twenty-first century.
Nowadays, children’s stories are more Grimm than Disney, and true to tradition, none of Grimm’s fairy tales ended with “happily ever after.” Even romance stories written in the style of Barbara Cartland reject the assumption that once the bride and groom say “I do,” life is a never-ending bliss.

In Boccaccio’s 1702 version of Il Decamerone, the phrase “happily ever after” is first used in reference to a marriage: “Paganino, hearing the News, married the Widow, and since they were very well acquainted, they lived very affectionately and happily forever.” However, this was not the original usage of the phrase.

Originally, the word “the happily ever after” referred to Heaven.
When people were labeled as “happy forever,” it was indicated that they were “happy in the forever.” This expression dates back to at least the 16th century, as evidenced by a work by the French Protestant reformer Augustin Marlorat – A Catholike and Ecclesiasticall exposition of the Holy Gospell, 1570: But after Christ rose from the dead, they were appointed ordinary teachers of the church: and in this regard, this honor pertained to the happily ever after.

McCann added, “In the United States, the average cost of a wedding is $28,000. We are right in the sweet spot.” Planning Disney goes above and above for its visitors in all respects.

This is also true while arranging a wedding. Disney manages every aspect from beginning to end. Stephanie Burman and her husband Antonio Santiago said that they were able to organize their wedding in just three hours, allowing them to spend the remainder of their day in Magic Kingdom.

“It was an incredible experience,” he remarked. Burman stated that the planning was a breeze. “They provided you a planning package, and you would just highlight all the items you truly want and what you had in mind for your wedding day. The planner basically takes anything you want and runs with it.” Disney intends to include story into their weddings.

McCann stated, “They come with really imaginative ideas, and it is our responsibility to assist them be their storytellers and bring creativity to actually play out whatever is conceived in their minds.” Everything is done in-house, thus Disney is responsible for the cuisine, floral arrangements, decorations, photographer, and all other elements.
