Which International Disney Resort Is The Smallest?

Which International Disney Resort Is The Smallest
Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter – Port Orleans French Quarter Many consider French Quarter to be the best Disney Moderate resort. Its size distinguishes it from other Moderate resorts; it is significantly smaller than the others. In fact, it is the smallest resort in all of Disney World! This resort’s size ensures that you are never far from amenities and transportation, a common issue at other Disney Moderate resorts.

  • French Quarter also stands out because of its beautiful grounds and theming.
  • You will receive a Disney-fied version of New Orleans, complete with family-friendly streets! Port Orleans French Quarter is a beautiful resort, and its proximity to the main building and bus stop is extremely convenient.
  • Transportation is an additional benefit of staying here.

At other Moderate resorts, you must ride the resort’s bus to multiple stops before entering the theme parks. However, direct bus service from French Quarter to the parks is frequently available. There will always be dedicated bus service to and from Magic Kingdom, reducing travel time to the most visited theme park.

You may also receive dedicated service to the other parks during peak hours. But during off-peak hours, buses typically stop at Port Orleans Riverside’s many stops before heading to the parks. Additionally, French Quarter has a boat stop that provides direct service to Disney Springs. This is a HUGE advantage if you wish to visit Disney Springs, as buses are notoriously slow to get to and from the area.

The pool complex at French Quarter includes a large feature pool. A water slide and a hot tub are located nearby. In fact, you can also use the pools at Riverside, as the two resorts are sister properties (this policy was confirmed with Disney on my last stay).

  1. There is also a water playground for children adjacent to the main pool.
  2. This is a wonderful addition for families with young children and can be found at many Deluxe and Moderate resorts.
  3. In the same building as the check-in desks is the Sassagoula Floatworks Food Factory, which serves as the hotel’s only dining option.

It serves cuisine loosely inspired by New Orleans that, in my experience, is superior to that of other food courts. Here, you can view the menu. The Scat Cat’s Club and Cafe (located adjacent to the food court) serves fresh Mickey beignets throughout the day.

  • Beignets are a major draw for me at this resort (my stomach clearly drives my decisions making).
  • Evening snacks and beverages are available here as well.
  • French Quarter is the only Disney Moderate resort without a table service dining option, which is a disadvantage compared to the other resorts in its category.

Nevertheless, you can walk to Boatwrights, the table-service restaurant at Port Orleans Riverside, or take a short boat ride to Disney Springs to reach a number of excellent table-service restaurants. Therefore, it does not bother me very much. Some rooms at French Quarter have one king bed, but the majority have two queen beds and were renovated in 2018.

They feature hardwood floors, a flat-screen television, drawers, a Keurig coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, and a table with two chairs. Some rooms in the French Quarter still have a curtain separating the bathroom from the rest of the room, while others have heavy sliding doors. It is convenient to have two sinks in the bathroom when getting ready in the morning.

The cost is the largest disadvantage of Port Orleans French Quarter. It is frequently excluded from Disney discounts due to the high demand for stays at this location. With rack rates beginning at $219 (plus tax) and no discounts in sight, a stay at this establishment is prohibitively expensive.
